Big Boy Burns....

So, what's new? I don't think I ever told you about Seth's fall the other day. He has learned to swing on his belly, and on Wed night he took a tumble out, face first. Poor bubba is sporting a fat bottom lip and a scraped up left nostril. It makes it hard to wipe his face after a meal, and to chase him with a tissue when he's snotty.

I've been thinking about Seth's big boy room. Now my baby still sleeps in his crib, and we are still so thankful he hasn't yet realized to climb out yet. He's going to be 2 in September, so I'm thinking... what? The Big Boy room move for Christmas maybe? Anyways, when I saw this Bedroom set done by Pottery Barn Kids, I knew it was THE set!

So classic! I have a thing for Stars, and this shade blue is precious! I love it, and recently just got it for him. The quilt is really soft! I can really imagine Seth snuggling with this quilt for years to come!

I think I have run out of some creative steam. Earlier this week I created 2 paper packs, in a dual kit collection called City Limits. Uptown Chic and Downtown Unique are the kits, and I am having some trouble coming up with the element packs. UP is bright, graphic, and very clean, as opposed to DU being dirty, grungy, artsy. I am thinking some duct tape would be neat for DU.... can you all giv me a hand with some suggestions? Something unique for both sets....

Available at The Digi Chick!!

From The Heart is an element pack full of journaling stamps. Use them as .pngs, or turn them into brushes for more possibility. These are the perfect touch for your pages, helping you to express what is from your heart. Included in From the Heart are 13 Journal Stamps. (Not all are shown in the preview.)

Garden Gems is an element pack full of jeweled flowers. These will be the perfect small touch for your pages. Included in Garden Gems are 12 jeweled flowers. (Not all are shown in the preview.)

I have written down 2 numbers.... leave a comment, and if you fall on one of those numbers, you will win both element kits above! 2 Winners to be announced tomorrow!

Have any fun weekend plans? We are heading to the mall tonight. Maybe get some dinner out. Tomorrow is another Graduation Open House, so that means food and fellowship, LOL!

Would it be cheating to leave the next ten comments??? lol!

Oh! okay - I promise I'm not trying to cheat here and leave another comment - but I thought of something for your urban kits. How about some sort of tire treads? Maybe green street signs with fun word art on them. Also something done with cardboard maybe?

i've got nothing in mind for suggestions yet but i do hope i fall on one of those precious two numbers coz i just so love the things you designed. good luck on your kits though.

Just trying my luck at falling in on your chosen number :) Love those flowers, how cute are they?!

hmm, better jump in before bethany takes up all the posts, lol! let's see... How about a faux fur element for the uptown kit? And maybe something sparkly, like a dangly chain with interchangable charms. For the city limits kit, I like the duct tape idea, and what about a rusty element of some sort? I can't wait to see what you come up with!

I love those journaling strips.

Beautiful Kits Andrea! I really like the jeweled flowers. They'll add real sparkle to a page.
Since I am not a digiscrapper, I can only offer advice based on what I like to see! Maybe some chrome and glass type of accents for UP. Some graphics or fonts that are like spray painting for DU?
I can't wait to see Seth's big boy room all set up. Makes me a little sad that they are growing up so fast. I know Teagan is quickly outgrowing her crib and we have to seriously start thinking of moving her to a big bed. My only concern is her escaping her room in the middle of the night!

I just started reading your blog, but I had to leave a comment to tell you I love those element kits, especially the garden gems! And I've always loved that PBK stars set. Nice choice!

Love the quilt! We have a Pottery Barn Puppy quilt and it has held up so well. I can't wait to see what Seth's room will look like!

HAHAHA! I never win anything, so just tell me where I can buy them. I'm headed to buy the red white blue set right now. my hubby said ok, and I'm super stoked!!!

Oh, I love the journaling stamps! Very cool idea! We are a pottery barn house hold, too! Both of my boys nuersery's were done in their stuff. Jack had sailboats (and still does in his big boy room) and Henry has a surf/tropical theme. I've got fabric stapled to the wall trimmed in roping (palm tree and sun in Henry's room and 2 sailboats in Jack's). So clearly they'll be in those themes until they can ask otherwise (or until we sell the house and someone else can worry about taking the stapled and hot glued shapes off the wall!! LOL)

Hmmm...neon word art? chipboard (or paper) shopping bag?

Awww...hope he's ok from the fall off the swing. You gave me a great idea...I need to teach DD to swing on her stomach so I don't always have to push her lol.

Esp. love those 2 elements packs! I've been looking for some journaling stamps like those!

Oh, I love the sound of the new kits. I have absolutely no idea what kind of elements to add, but I like the duct tape idea. Ummm...wait. What about some wire? Like, really crazy twisted wire or something?

This is why I am not a designer. :)

Those garden gems are beautiful! I'm going to have to go shopping!

Wow. I even fell on my favorite number :)hopefully it's one of yours too....

i really love the beaded kit. Great bling.

I really like some of the ideas some people are giving. Especially the idea of the street signs with word art. maybe you could have some marquis type word art? or neon signs? Both would be cool. I love seeing word art in kits.

I love PBK! I did DD's room in it 4 years ago and still love it. Your new stuff is awesome! How about spray painted graffiti, street signs, and something brick textured? Have a good weekend!

I love the journaling brushes! Great idea.

I also agree with the street sign idea. Street lines, a subway map, or word art that looks like graffeti, elements that look like chain link fence material? I have no idea how you would incorporate any of those thoughts into elements, but I thought I would brainstorm a little. LOL

What a beautiful bedding set! Absolutely gorgeous.

And I LOVE those jeweled flowers.

Awww...poor Seth and his fat lip! Are ya gonna do a page about it? =P
That's a beautiful bedroom set! It's for a twin bed, right? Not a toddler? Do you have his bed yet? Will you do white like the picture? How on earth are you going to wait until Christmas time to use it? LOL

I have no ideas for your new kits. You're so good though, I know you'll come up with something!!

OMG! I love the new elements! The jeweled flowers are awesome!!

How about an alpha that is like spray paint graffiti with symbols too. I like the charms idea for the UP kit.

Love the 'big boy' room- my son will be to in October, but he has his big bed now. He really loves it- having a bed like mommy and daddy's. I hope your son takes to his as well- I heard that can be rough sometimes!

Darn, someone already stole my thunder by suggesting graffiti! Well, how about this...? UPTOWN: diamond/pearls/gems; sparkling glass & brass (thinking of a fancy hotel inspired this image). DoWNTOWN: steel/metal/concrete; big chunky chains; grease stains. That's all I can come up with for now. I'll keep thinking though. BTW... that bedding setting is GORGEOUS! Are you thinking what I'm thinking? It would make a to die for digi kit!!! There you go... your next project! ;) LOL Your creations continue to WOW me. Stunning work! :)

A thought for you and Tara... when we moved our boys to big beds we put a gate up in their doorway. (A plastic, easily removable one, not a wooden one that has to be attached to the doorframe.) That ensured they stayed safely in their rooms at night (and away from the stairs in the dark). They got used to playing quietly in their rooms when they woke which was an added bonus! :D

Had to give this a shot....

very cool looking gem flowers! downtown says rusty or dirty metals to me re: embellies with some scratchy overlays; while uptown says more glass and shiny chrome.
love the look of seth's new digs
