PAD #14

PAD #14, Homework Close Up

50mm, F2.2, ISO 1000

Here's PAD for yesterday! LOL! I had *just* remembered that I needed to do it, and the light was fading f-a-s-t! So here is my Christmas Cactus in bloom. (Is it weird that my white one blooms at Thanksgiving, and my pink one after New years? {roll eyes})

I need to completely catch up and post 2 in a row for ya'll. Maybe tomorrow. ;)

****************

I am feeling much better today, thank goodness. Thank you for your concern and well wishes, I appreciate it! Its just a cold, and I am treating it with trusty Tylenol Cold and Zicam swabs.
Something I am sick and tired of is the acne I battle every day. I've had it for years and faught it with prescriptions and over the counter meds. I've tried Proactiv, RetinA, & Benziclyn. The last couple years I hadn't tried so hard, and was just using Oil of Olay Anti Age & Anti Blemish.
Well, the Oil of Olay wasn't working anymore, and I've got some ugly zits on my chin and jaw. I had been thinking of trying the Proactiv again, but the price was deterring me. I had heard some good things about a similar line at Target, so when I was there I picked it up.

Don't buy from that link! It's about $10 less in retail stores, LOL! So, I'm giving it a try. Nothing to lose... except hopefully my breakouts. :c) I just need to be careful about my blue/ green/ purple towels and sheets. The Benzoil Peroxide tends to bleach those out.

OK~ commercial over, LOL! I'll let you know how it works.

Great photo!

And, Acnefree is waaaay better than proactiv (which didn't work for me at all) and cheaper too! It does wreck my towels though :(

Good luck!

20birds~ The Acne Free stuff is half the price and has the same ingredients. So I suggest giving it a try.

Thanks for the compliments! :c)

Pretty picture and what a nice color. My mom used to grow Christmas Cactus back in Florida, they would grow like mad, but my husband's grandmother grows them here in Washington in a sort of greenhouse and they're the biggest I've ever seen!!

BTW, what is PAD?

I haven't tried that product but I did just use Clean & Clear Persa gel (which has benzoyl peroxide.)I only put a little bit across my forhead and I had a severe allergic reaction to it! My entire face swelled up and turned red! I do have very sensitive skin though, but I know that I will never use benzoyl peroxide again!
I know how frustrating it is to have breakouts as an adult. I don't need anymore help looking like a teenager, lol. :)

I've just started reading your blog - I am actually going through the SAME thing with acne on my chin and jaw! It drives me nuts. So I went and got a facial and she cleaned out my pores and I actually think it helped; well worth the money. She said adult acne (I'm 27) mainly comes from not exfoliating. I haven't broken out yet and it is usually the same time of month and the same exact spot!! Just a thought ... good luck:)

So I love to read your blog and I had to comment on this post.
I used Proactiv before and it did a pretty good job, but I was sick of how expensive it was. So I've been using Clean & Clear, like you I am getting nasty zits on my chin and jaw which is driving my crazy!!! I also debated using Proactiv again, but I am really glad I read your blog because I think I will give this stuff a try. This is exactly why I love blogs, you learn so much great information :)
BTW-I also have bunions and have seen a foot specialist about getting surgery, just trying to find a time I can take work off. I feel for you, they are annoying and painful!

Hi, Andrea! I am a lurker coming out of lurkdom today, LOL!

I have been using products I purchased from www.acne.org. I LOVE THEM!!! Watch the videos online, too. They are very helpful. :)

Hey, I can relate with the acne. I suffered from 14 until I was in my early 30's and I tried EVERYTHING prescription and over-the-counter and nothing kept it away. Then I found www.acne.org which was this non-profit site started from this guy who had adult acne. He found something cheap that worked for him and then decided to tell everyone about it. It is so simple, go check it out. It is basically 2 applications of benzoyl peroxide BP(low concentration, 2.5%, won't dry your skin), one in the morning, once at night on dry skin, covering your whole face. Then use a non-oily moisterizer (he has a list, I basically can use anything, even oil ones as long as I use the BP) with SPF during the day (and night if you want). That is it. Within a few weeks my acne was gone and it has been gone for 5 years. I now only use the BP at night and my face still stays clear. But if I forget for a few days I again break out (and I am 38 years old!).
So now I use any face cleanser I want (Kiss Your Face Olive Oil soap right now, same bar for 1 year, good for $3!) and any face moisterizer (Aveeno Positively Radient, spf 30 right now) and Neutrogena BP.

All of the kits you buy probably use BP for their main ingredients, so this way you can save money and use other products. As long as you use the BP daily you might find that you can use whatever you want for washing/moisterizer.

Acne.org made a huge difference in my life. I know I sound crazy, but I suffered years. I hated going swimming because I could not hide my zits under makeup then. Now I can get by without any makeup at all, which is a miracle! Hopefully I can hold off the wrinkles a bit longer so I can enjoy my soft clear face!

Funny, but every time I see a person with skin similar to what mine looked like, I want to give them that website to change their life. I am like a born-again acne queen! Good luck!!!

Oh Sarah, I did not read your post before I posted (I did not make it down to the bottom!). Yah! Another person who loves Acne.org!!!

I also came out of lurkdom today because I am so passionate about that site.

BTW, gorgeous picture of the Christmas Cactus! I have several colors and they all bloom at the same time, so I can't help you with that. They are outside all year long so maybe that is why?

I sympathise. I'm 44yrs old and have had horrible acne for the past year. It's a side effect of the Mirena IUD which I had to have fitted after a really bad case of anaemia due to horrific periods. I'm going to see if I can find an equivalent to Acnefree here in the UK.

Love your photos! x
