Our Big News....

A couple of you might have noticed that Nate and I have been going back and forth to Maryland a few times recently.

Well... our big news is that we are moving. Moving four hundred miles from where we are now.

Nate put out his resume in February, up and down the East Coast. The very beginning of May a church in Rockville, MD called us and wanted to set up a phone interview. That went great. So then they wanted a face-to-face interview. They were having the face-to-face with a few other couples as well. They told us from there they would decide on one couple and bring them out for a trial weekend.

That was us, and we went to the Candidation (trial weekend) a week and a half ago. Rockville is a suburb outside of Washington DC.

The whole weekend was SO wonderful. This new church is unreal. It it ethnically diverse, situated in such a culturally diverse place (DC!!) the congregation is young and are go-getters.... we are pumped!

We have a tentative moving date of Sept 12. That gives us slightly over 4 weeks to wrap up stuff here, pack house, and move to a new state. Last night Nate officially told our church, and tonight we sadly tell our Students too.

As excited and pumped that we are going.... I'm still kinda sad about leaving. It's bittersweet. I'm about to leave the house that I brought my babies home to, and saw my Seth learn to crawl, walk, and talk in, KWIM?

So that is that. We head back over on Monday and Tuesday to look at houses and town homes. We really hope we can find something!

I am a bundle of nerves, anticipation, and anxiety!

That is great news but I can imagine how mixed you must be feeling right now. If you ever want to meet I am about 35 minutes (with no traffic) from Rockville - closer to Annapolis, but still not THAT far away. Keep me in mind if you need to make a connection once you've settled in or if there is anything I can help you with as you prepare for thebig move. I wish you all the best!

You don't know me from Adam, but, in the most important way, we are sisters. If God is in this move, and I assume you two are sure that He is, then it will all work out. Praise God for the good thing He is working out for you. Marci

Andrea that's fantastic news! Congratulations!! I'm actually moving the weekend after you - also 400 miles, from western NY to the opposite side of DC :) I am finally going to be living with my husband in Northern VA. I'll get there two weeks before our first anniversary. Anyway, I don't want to steal your thunder - I just think it's neat that we're both moving like that. I hope you and your family have a safe and easy move and get settled in without too many problems, and congrats again!!

Congrats! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Rockville! Rockville Pike has all the art stores you'd need in a row! Pearl Paint, Michaels and AC Moore. Eatzi's is a great gourment food shop on Rockville Pike as well (right across from a free-standing Anthropology clothing shop) and it leads you to the White Flint mall where there's Cheesecake Factory and PF Changs. Ohhh I'm so jealous!! You'll love it there.

Congratulations on the move! I'd love to go to Maryland and be near DC! How cool is that? I'm English in the UK but lived in the USA about 20 yrs ago. I'd love to go back one day and visit all those places I missed including Maryland. I love all the New England states. Anyway, good luck with your move!
