Scraps Galore....

Just trying to get caught up! ;)

About time I made this LO.... lil' guy is already 11 mos old, LOL! On real portraits I would have fixed any blemishes.... but not here. I purposely left Lucas the way he came into this world. Credits HERE.

This was a gift Quick page from my dear friend Darla when Lucas was born.... so honestly, I have no idea what the credits are. Except for the bead, I know those are Kim Giarrusso's, and of course my Black and White photo action, LOL!

Just a picture to freeze that moment in time... ahhhh.... Credits HERE.

**As seen in Digital Artist Magazine, 9.07**

A simple yet effective LO, LOL! Credits HERE.

Hallelujah!

I can't believe that I forgot to share this tidbit of news with ya'll yesterday!

I wore honest-to-goodness HEELS to church on Sunday! WOOHOO! First time in four long months. I was getting really tired of tennis shoes and flats, LOL! Now my wardrobe has opened back to up to lots of potential! And, if anything, I do think it will help mt feet some. My toes are still really stiff on that foot and they don't move (or have the same range of movement) as my left foot's toes. I think by being up on heels, its helping to stretch the toes and will get them more limber. That's my theory anyways, LOL!

Adoration

Journaling reads: Adoration is what we feel for each other. I adore you, you adore me. I love the way your face lights up when you see me. We just can't get enough of one another.

Like I mentioned yesterday Nate and I were out at the mall on Saturday (Rainforest Cafe.) Well, I came across the cutest dress at Delia*s! Perfect for Easter or a casual Summer day! I got the light grey cardigan to go with it. LOVE these colors, I honestly don't think these pictures do it justice.

Dress :::::: Cardigan

Well, have to dash! Today is our Olan Mills family portrait for our church's new directory, so I must go get the kiddos ready. OK, I admit... me ready. HA!

Fun Weekend....

I hope everyone is waking up to a nice Monday....

I have some fun photog related news.... One of my photog forums (ILP) accepted my application to join their private business side of the board. Its kind of a tough application, but I made it through! I'm hoping to be "Full Access" by the end of the summer (a much harder and more thorough aplication... deffinitely a "Pro Status")"

Here's my application portfolio~

I'm in the process of reworking my website.

Today is New Cell Phone For Andrea Day! My 2 years is up on Verizon, so I get the extra $50 rebate to pick out a new phone. I'm going with the Venus slider phone with a touch screen!

Saturday we celebrated by taking the boys to Rainforest Cafe. It was so much fun! The food was pretty "eh" but it was great to see the boys react to everything.

I had a session last Thursday with a lady from my church. Her girls have such great eyelashes!!

Here are 4 for ya'll.....

The baby was NOT having anything to do with being seperated from her mom.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!

((Miriam... wow, good question! I forgot about that! LOL~ send me an email to andreaburnsct at hotmail dot come and I'll email it to you!))

Lucas' Birthday Photo....

I took Lucas' birthday photo the other morning and used a brand new trick.

I got everything ready, then sat him down and put a piece of scotch tape on his hand. I had read that this would help him (and other baby/ toddlers) to sit still, and getting the tape off of his hand will occupy him for a few moments, enough to get a few shots. This really helped for Lucas to sit still for a minute.

It worked! I cloned out the bit of tape that peeked up, but he stayed still long enough, LOL! I also like how his hands are pressed together like that too.... Loud silly noises, with my husband and other son dancing away behind me too got him to look up....

Miracle of Miracles! I scrapped! These are my first pages of 2008. I want Lucas' album done for his Birthday party!

Just my Lucas when he was (sob!) Little! Credits HERE.

Lucas' first Halloween! What a sweet Dragon he was! Credits HERE.

I had a super sweet photo session yesterday, and its calling me to proof it. I have a lot of wedding work to still proof and get ready though. Ahhh.....

Good Times....

Nothing like catching up.....

Pictured above are: my sister Alicia, myself, and sisters Jessica & Julie. We've been friends since childhood... almost 19 years! (missing is my other sister) We've seen and been through everything. Our homes were interchangeable, our families interchangeable.
Jessica shares my love of Photography, and she helped me start the Photography Club in High School... LOL!
Two too many years had passed since we had all had a chance to get together and catch up. Jessica was deployed overseas (did I mention she's an expert with grenades... seriously!) and of course with me living 6 hours away. But Saturday night we made it a point to meet up at this Italian place and we just laughed and reminisced and then lauged some more.

Happy Valentine's Day!

****************

How Nate and I met....

We met at Toccoa Falls College.

I was a freshman when his friend Mike came for 2nd semester. We had a class together and were friendly. But that next year Mike went to China.

Then, when I was a Junior, Mike came back to school and brought Nate with him. Mike knowing my friends and I, sat with us at meals and in Chapels, thus Nate sitting with us too.

I remember seeing Nate get up from lunch one day, a joke had just been made, and he cracked the biggest smile, and I remember it being so beautiful. But of coures, he was older and waaay out of my league, LOL! (I didn't know it but at the time he was asking around about me...)

A couple weeks later, I was driving past the building he was just coming out of class. He yelled out to me, and I stopped. I was driving my camaro, and he came over popped his head in and was checking it out. I totally thought I was cool, b/c this cute guy was checking my car out, LOL! (later I find out he HATES camaro's and loves mustangs... he just didn't want to have eye contat with me!)

He asks me if I want to go to the park with him that weekend... b/c he's taking his then-2 yr old niece. I agree, and that was our first time we hung out. He totally manipulated me though... at the park he's showing how great he is with kids, he's changing diapers.... LOL!

Nate asked me out on a real date, and we went to Fatz Cafe, and had plans to see Double Jeopardy with Ashley Judd. After dinner his car broke down, so I got to witness him change an alternator in the parking lot, just in time to catch the later show!

He had me hooked after that... what a rennaissance man!

Within 3 months we knew we were going to get married someday... we were engaged a year later, and married 9 months after that. We've been together for 8.5 years, and we'll be married for 7 come May.

His niece was our flower girl and is now 10 years old!

Just a Wednesday....

Hello everyone!

I had a pretty good day yesterday! I went to my friend Jessica's house for a playdate.

An ice storm started right around 4 pm, when I was headed out anyways to put Seth down for a nap. I handed Lucas to Jessica so I could take some stuff out to the car, and SWOOP! My feet went out underneath me, and I flew out over her steps, and landed straight on my bottom 3 steps down. I have a honker of a huge bruise now on my left cheek, and it hurts!

LOL~ Jess imediately ran to the door... "You didn't break anything, did you?" Nooo.... just my pride, haha!

I'm just so thankful I didn't have Lucas with me!

Then!!! Last night Nate and I saw a commercial that Broadway's The Lion King is coming to DC over my birthday (in Aug) so we got tickets for on my birthday!!! I am so excited, I've been wanting to see this show! It's at the Kennedy Center.

The ice storm here got pretty bad.... there was a 19 car pile up 3 miles from our house AND a bus with kids got stuck on an icy ramp... and they were all there for HOURS! Can you imagine?!?!?

Someone is Almost 1....

And it just makes me want to cry... I HATE first birthdays!

Last night I assembled Lucas' first birthday invites, and just HAD to share them with you!

Here is the card-preprinted....

That is Pass The Chex font, a Gymboree onsie, and a Shabby Princess frame.
***If you decide that you'd like to do this in the future, you'll need to tell the Post Office to Hand Cancel the envelopes.

Monday.... again

Why are Mondays always so crabby? LOL! I think Sundays with church and disrupted nap schedules and having all day Daddy gets the kids upset on Mondays when its back to routine and no daddy..... (sigh)

I shot another wedding on Saturday. It was on the other side of the spectrum, compared to my cousin's wedding in January. Michael had a large church wedding..... and this was a small wedding at the bottom of a frozen waterfall. LOL!!!

All of the bridesmaids and bride wore long-johns under their dresses, and outdoor boots for shoes! And it was very icy descent down a path or ramp to get to the place that they exchanged vows. The bridal party all wore nice coats. They had Hot cider and pocket warmers for everyone. (with my foot I was just praying I wouldn't fall, LOL!)

It was beautiful, very laid back and intimate. I got some great shots!

Speaking of weddings, I have gotten some more inqueries, one for May and another for August. I'll be meeting with these bridal couples later this week, so hopefully I can land those jobs too.

****************

How aweful am I, that I haven't relly scrapped anything in 2008 yet? I need to get rolling.... Lucas' birthday is next month, and I want to put an album out for him at the party. I've also found out the Scrapbook Pictures is having a square print sale, so all the more incentive for me to get scrapping, LOL! Be on the lookout!

Three More....

Here are 3 from Sunday night... We had a big Superbowl party here, and that was so much fun! We had some married couples over from church, and some singles, there were 20(?) of us? It was a good time. My sister and BIL also came over and it was fun to see them all intermingle.

So of course I did a little Portfolio Building and practiced with my Alien Bee...

I'm getting close to overhauling my website! TFL!
By the way... (I can't believe I've never mentioned this!)
