Hospital....

This is it, we are off to the hospital!

40 Weeks

I am exactly 40 weeks today on my Due Date, and Sugar is still nestled cozy. I've been walking, tried ankle and foot massages, eating mexican and pineapples...

I just got back from my 40 week Doctor's Appointment this morning. I had my membranes stripped, so hopefully not too much longer. Believe it or not... no progress. Still at 1 cm dialation.

Now we just wait. I've heard this can start things for some women, and I've heard nothing for others. I'm to expect cramping.

It's been unusually warm here the past few days, in the 90's. I've been wearing and washing the same pair of capris and tee, because I got rid of all my summer maternity clothes.

Sugar Sugar, come out, come out wherever you are! Mama & Daddy, and your brothers want to play! I did have a dream the other night that she looked just like Lucas, with the lips and shock of black hair.

This morning was another Soccer morning! Cheering from the sidelines....

Of course, don't let these photos fool you... Seth does really great the first half of practice, when its instructional time and each player uses their own ball. But the last half, the team scrimmages, and Seth still doesn't get that the whole team only plays with one ball... so he gets upset if he's not in control of the ball the entire time.

But Seth is four. And he's learning. This week was already better than last week, when he sat pouting for half the time. I am LOVING this warm weather! Now if only Baby Sister would come out to play!

Crafty....

I recently got a new lens, the Nikon 50mm 1.4G. It's Nikon's new Pro 50mm... and its gorgeous! It's aperture opens more than the 1.8, it's faster, and it's bokeh is more round as opposed to octagonal (compared to the 1.8 and the 1.4D). I haven't yet had a chance to test it in portraiture, but I did take a couple recent snaps with it....



Aren't those some handsome young men? Rascals, both of them. I LOVE that bib & those placemats, by the way! They catch stuff and make less mess, woohoo! Lucas has both together, if the bib doesn't catch the food, the mat does, I LOVE the combo!

Lucas is talking more, using sentences more. I'll sneeze and he'll say "bess ew, Mama." Last night at dinner he singled everyone of us out and said "i lub ew, Mama. i lub ew Daddy. i lub ew, Ses." Talk about making my heart melt! He also tries really hard to sing the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Hot Dog song... and its hysterical!

Seth has been a bit more of a challenge lately. I think he's anxious about the baby. He's been more willful and disobedient. This boy has a mind of his own, and while I encourage that, I'm trying my best to redirect it. I'm trying hard to get him to think ahead of time, or become aware of Lucas' "leave me alone" cues, and to be mindful of them. I'm sure in the next couple months we'll have more challenges, but that they will also fizzle out as he adapts to the change.

Last night all the Burns boys went to church, and I stayed home for an hour and a half of much needed peace. I worked on a craft 5 years in the making. I actually started this button frame 5 years ago, but ran out of buttons, and then it sat... and sat, and sat.


I finally picked up some more of the mother of pearl buttons to finish, and here is the result, one hour and three glue gun sticks later~

It's just a craft frame that I glued those to. That image is my mother and I, taken by my father back in 1980. Now the frame is sitting on Sugar's nightstand.

Other than that everyone is still sitting tight around here!

Say Wha?

I'm here, I'm pretty miserable. Today marks the day that I am officially the most pregnant I have ever been. I'm super cranky. I am NOT one of those women who loves being pregnant... Everything hurts, is sore, I charleyhorse in the middle of the night, I wake myself up choking on stomach acid. On top of it all my allergies are flaring and I can't breathe.

Good times, 'eh?

Seth was 7.7 and 21 in. at 38 weeks
Lucas was 8.6 and 21 in. at 39 weeks

I am exactly 38 weeks and 5 days today. I am 10 lbs under where I was with the boys. Have fun! :)

Nesting... Etsy Style....

I have noticed recently, that one of my ways of nesting for Sugar has been by buying up all these pretty little girly baubles. And then I fell right into Etsy's wonderful web of handmade goodness.

False Alarm...

I'm still here, Suagr is still in utero, lol. Yesterday was really crappy, but I wonder if it was also due to the bad night of sleep the night before and all the errands I ran yesterday... just too much, know what I mean? I slept great last night and feel a bunch better this morning.

However that said, I'm taking Seth for a haircut, he needs one badly (ie. his easter photo, LOL!!!)

38 and a Half Weeks...

From this... to this...

In 38 weeks. I just got back from my 38 week Doctor's Appointment~

5 lbs lost (huh?)
1 cm dilated
60% effaced

.......... and I may be in early labor. I am definitely having some lower back uncomfortableness/ pain, and some belly contractions.

Do you think my dream of having Baby Girl on April 15th will come true?

Easter Relived....

37 Weeks....

And there you have it.... These may be the last! (there is one in mind I want to get... so we'll see!)

Still Here....

Look who started soccer over the weekend. First, it was brutally cold... just so very windy. And before you give me the Worst Mom of The Year award, my son wasn't the only one in his shorts that morning, lol. He did warm up after they ran around some.

Practice was hilarious. The coach was really great with all of the kids... he made everything a fun game, while still teaching basics. Seth was so funny when it came to dribbling the ball down field to make a goal... he'd get 3 feet in front of the goal, and then pick the ball up for the rest of the way! Seth had a great time, and that what counts!

I went on to shoot two sessions that afternoon, and a 3rd session Sunday afternoon. I was exhausted, let me tell you. I still have 2 sessions left this weekend, before I go on "maternity leave."

I had my 37 week appointment yesterday.

I am a fingertip dilated, but my cervix is still long. When the Dr was taking her heartbeat, she smiled and said, feel this~ and put my hand on my belly. Sugar was "practicing her breathing" and we could feel and see her taking her breaths while I was on my back. It was subtle, but really cool. The Dr says that this is a great sign that she is healthy and all is well.

She thinks I still have a good week at least, which is fine, I wanted to keep her in till Easter. But I am very aware that my time is getting much closer. My actual Due Date is the 27th, but I was early with both of the boys so we will see.

A Diaper Shower....

My sister and my mother really gave me a blessing when they hosted a diaper shower for me last weekend.

Myself, my middle sister Alicia, and my mom.

The shower was really great. I scored on Diapers.... (25 packs!!!) from sizes 1-4. I received a bunch of beautiful girly clothes, a new Vera Bradley diaper bag (in Pinwheel Pink), new nursing cover, pink boppy cover, all needed stuff. Sugar and I are pretty set. I still need to buy her some socks (lol), a new cradle sheet, and one more hooded towel, and we are good to go.

I came home and sorted everything out, and got everything put away by 8 pm. Can't stand clutter right now!

I had my 36 week DA a couple days ago.

I am "high and tight", though my Dr said she could feel the baby's head when she examined. She thinks things will start happening this week (loosening). I'm going to get out walking a bunch and see if that doesn't help.

I LOST two lbs this week!

You know what I recently realized?

With both of my boys I had a dark linea negra, Lucas' finally just faded last year.

With Sugar though?

NOTHING.

Weird huh?
