Helloooo There!

Happy Rockville to me!

LOL! These past 2 weeks have just flown! I have a million stories, and I have to dash.

Moving was a pill... but it always is. The beach was just gorgeous and just a blast.
My Internet use will be spotty the next month. I'm typing from Nate's office, and I know that I can come here a couple times a week to check up on things.

And this week we start house hunting in earnest.

Not to forget that Seth turns 3 on Tuesday! Lots to do!

((HUGS)) to you all... and start coming on back for posts! I miss ya'll!

Sadie Update....

The Shepherd Rescue lady put us in touch with a Shepherd trainer in our county. It turns out that his neighbor is an elderly man, whose wife died years ago and his shepherd of 11 years just passed away. He didn't want a puppy (b/c of his age and energy). But he did want another shepherd for a watch dog and a companion.

So we met with the 2 men yesterday afternoon. The trainer is a good neighbor, checking our Sadie for the elderly man, and it seems that it is a great fit. So Sadie went home with her new master. The trainer kept reassuring us that she was going to a great place, where he would love her and dote on her, and that there was a great yard. He also offered that we could call and check up on her whenever.

Last night we also had our Farewell Dinner at our church here. It was very bittersweet and sad. People shared stories about us, and thanked us. We did a lot of hugging, and I shed many tears.

I was a huge mess all day yesterday, but I feel better about Sadie's quality of life and yet looking forward to our new chapter in the Burns' story.

The moving truck is coming tomorrow, we actually leave Wednesday morning. This coming Sunday we are off to the beach for a week. I have no idea when we'll get the internet hooked up, but it may not be for 2 or 3 weeks.

So this may be my last post for a little while. ((HUGS)) to you all, and I'll be seeing you.... from Maryland!

All Swirly Whirly....

My emotions are all swirly whirly today.

We still aren't sure what's happening with Sadie.... but we are still in talks with a couple people.

My stress level is way up high..... and its affecting other things in my personal life.

Seth is having more and more melt downs, and listening to Mama less and less.

My house is a disaster zone and its driving me bonkers.

I swear I see a couple wrinkles under my eyes.

T-Minus three days and counting....

Grieving...

My heart is just broken. Nate and I have made the decision that Sadie will not be coming with us to Maryland. We just couldn't coupe a shepherd up in a town house, nor could we bug our neighbors with her barking whenever she heard someone knock at the door.

My head knows that this is the right thing to do... but my heart is just grieving. I can hardly hold it together.

Sadie was our first baby, our puppy we bought together right before we got married. We've had her 6 and a half years, and she'll be 7 on Oct 11. She selflessly was our watch dog and our companion.

We are in contact with a Shepherd Rescue Organization, who may have already found a family for her, but that doesn't help. I just dread the day that we are going to have to say good bye.... just knowing that we won't ever see her again.

How could we? I'm so mad at myself. I'm hurting that we can't have this both ways... we can't move on and keep her. I'm mad at Nate because as a woman I am grieving more openly while he is brooding to himself quietly. I am upset that our days together are so limited.
